Removal requests

Crawler is a research prototype that indexes and links to material hosted by the Internet Archive. We host no media: images shown are thumbnails; audio and film are streamed from archive.org and every record links to its source.

If you hold rights in something surfaced here and want it removed from this index, it is removed promptly on request, no questions asked — we do not ask you to prove ownership first and we do not argue the merits.

This prototype is not yet published and has no removal mailbox. If you have reached this page and need something removed, contact the operator through whatever channel brought you here, and it will be actioned the same way.

What to send. Only two things are strictly needed:

  1. The link to the page or item on this site (or the archive.org identifier).
  2. A sentence saying what right you hold — no formal notice or legal citation required.

Anything else is optional. If you tell us the whole collection is yours we can remove it as a collection rather than item by item.

What happens next. The entry stops being indexed and stops being searchable here. Because we host nothing, that removes it from this site only — for removal from the Internet Archive itself, see archive.org's rights page, which is the authoritative route for the file itself.
